Vinci is the birthplace of the artist Leonardo and home to the Leonardo Library, the international centre for Leonardo Da Vinci studies and the Leopardiano civic museum, a large and prestigious collection of models of Da Vinci’s inventions housed in the Palazzina Uzielli and the Castle of the Counts Guidi, an impressive medieval fortress dating back to the eleventh century.
Vinci is also the location of the “Museo ideale Leonardo da Vinci” (Ideal Museum of Leonardo Da Vinci) dedicated to the in-depth study of the man’s modernity and the complexity of his work as an artist, scientist, inventor and designer.
